Power Flasher Circuit with SCR BSTC1026

Category:
There is no reason to resort to complex circuitry if what you are looking for is a simple flash power. The light flashes around 1Hz with a 100Watt bulb with a duty cycle of 50%. Maximum load that can be driven with this circuit is 200Watt, and if you want to have another frequency you must change the value of the capacitor. To 110VAC operation was not tested, though I expect the work, provided that the heaters are set at about half the amount indicated. SCR BSTC1026 is manufactured by Siemens, but other semiconductor equivalent sensitivity with standard port, should work fine.

WARNING! -
This circuit is directly connected to the mains and precautions must be taken. A more modern design would use a sensitive gate SCR, other low-power resistors, further resistance between gate and cathode, and a 10mF, 250V electrolytic capacitor.
